Rig Installation Guidlines

Here we will try to give you a few pointers on how to install your Blk Box Rig. Our rigs are not supplied with fixings for walls and floors. We supply the bolts and nuts to put it together but anchor fixings must be bought separately. They are listed as an optional extra due to the variety of surfaces that our clients need to bolt to and no one fixing will work for all surfaces. We recommend using a qualified tradesman to fit you rig.

Tips For Installing Your Rig

  • Prep – Make sure your walls are straight and the floor is level, check for pipes, beams, pillars, wires, plugs that may be in your way.
  • Do not tighten any components until the rig/rack is fully assembled, standing & ready to bolt down.
  • Monkey Bar Rigs – Check all bolts & screws are attached into the monkey bar rigs where necessary.
  • Wall Mounted Rigs – Drill one hole into each upright the floor at a time to ensure rig is lined correctly.

We have used in the past M10 x 100mm bolt type sleeve anchors for double block walls. We recommend consulting a professional for advise if you are unsure about what fixings to use.

All holes are 12mm which make them ideal for a M10 fixing.

Assembly of a 1 Bay Wall Mounted Rig

We will talk you through a 1 bay and the rest really follow the same process. The only difference being you connect each squat bay with a large cross member

For a 1 bay wall mounted rig you should have

  • 2 x 2.4m uprights
  • 3 x 1.07m small single bar cross members
  • 1 pair j hooks
  • 8 x nuts and bolts with washers

Instructions

  1. Align both large Uprights on the ground with the base plates approx 1m away from the wall with the  21mm  holes facing down.
  2. Connect the uprights using a small cross member
  3. Attach remaining cross members to the uprights at either side so that are erect
  4. Stand the rig against the wall and ensure uprights are parallel to each other and to the wall
  5. Tighten all components once in position
  6. Fasten to Wall & Floor

  6. Once both bays are standing join them, connect them. They will now stand alone.
  7. Level and straighten the uprights ensuring the space at the top is the same at the bottom
  8. Tighten all components once in position
